LGBT Tourism

This bachelor thesis is focused on the new area of tourism, which is called LGBT tourism. LGBT (also known as Queer or Pink) tourism is a part of tourism, which is focused on a special segment of tourists. LGBT segment is typical for special needs and wishes. The LGBT community is group of lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgender people with special characteristics, so supporting organisations, events and LGBT-friendly destinations are described in the thesis too. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe basic characteristics, development and motivation for creation this new area of tourism. It is presented and described on the Czech Republic and also on the global level. People of LGBT community filled in the questionnaires to provide us with their opinion and attitude of LGBT tourism. Retrieved data helps to create the project about appropriate sightseeing for this LGBT segment.
Specifics of selected Segment of Customer in Tourism

This bachelor thesis is focused on the neglected segment of LGBT people. LGBT community (also known as Queer) is typical for people with special characteristics, special needs, wishes and requirements in relation to tourism. The objectives of this thesis are to describe the specific needs of the selected segment of customers in tourism, to suggest options of equivalents that satisfy their needs and to create specific proposals of possible solutions. The data were obtained through a questionnaire survey. The questionnaire was compiled on the basis of information, which is obtained from the theoretical part. Within the questionnaire survey were tested three hypotheses about two variables for which probable independence was found. Finally, the data were used to create a complex product design for the LGBT segment.
Homosexual identity during communism era

Bachelor thesis with the name Homosexual identity during communism era analyse stories of ten narrators thru their stories show what it was like to be a homosexual during communism era and what options did they have to develop their homosexual identity in heteronormative society. Qualitatively collected biographical interviews were further analysed, which led to the formulation of three chapters, each of which points to one level of life that was important for the formation of the above-mentioned identity. The setting of the communist regime, even after the decriminalization of homosexuality in 1961, was still not very favorable for sexual minorities. However, this meant only a small problem for the homosexual community, for which they always found their way and created their own conditions, yet with certain limits.
Specifics of selected Segment of Customer in Tourism

The bachelor thesis deals with specifics of selected segment of customers in tourism. The selected segment is LGBT people (lesbians, gay, bisexual and transgender people). The thesis is divided into the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes the existing knowledge in relation to the discussed issue and it defines the basic terms. The practical part focuses on analysing the current situation of the leading organizations in the Czech Republic and abroad. The work also measures, compares and evaluates the potential of the Czech Republic for LGBT tourism. Further, the practical part consists of a research survey, based on a tour in the Czech Republic is designed. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to summarize the available data on the LGBT segment in tourism, to evaluate the potential of the Czech Republic for LGBT tourism and to prepare the tour in the Czech Republic.
Specifics and preferred marketing communication tools of chosen segment

In this age of globalization and modern technology potencial customers have become more resistant to different marketing practices and they act more rationally. Therefore it is more difficult to attract their attention and gain a competitive advantage. One possible option for companies is to extend their client base with a new target group. Such a group can be represented for example by the LGBT community. It is a common in abroad to work with these sexual minorities. This theses should show whether something like this is possible also in the Czech Republic or not. The aim of this theses is to compare the purchasing power of gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transsexuals with heterosexuals and to identify their approach to advertising aimed at LGBT community and their preferred marketing tools.
The life experiences and opinions of young homosexuals

This bachelor thesis's occupation analyses matters of young homosexual people. The aim of this work is to describe experineces and opinions which relate to their different sexual orientation. The first part of the thesis is the base for the next practical part. It defines kinds of sexual orientation, possible causes of homosexuality and it furthermore outlines the issues of coming out, homophobia and registrated partnership. The practical part is represented by qualitative research. The researched group consists of three gays and four lesbians aged from 19 to 26. The method of data collecting were depth focusing semi-structured interviews. The data were divided in categories which are interpreted in the second part.
Activism of the LGBT community in the Czech Republic

The main subject of this thesis is the activism of the LGBT community in the Czech Republic after 1989. The first goal is to analyse the living conditions of homosexuals in the Czech Republic, the possibilities for achieving greater rights, and the forms of activism which have helped to lead to the current situation. The second goal is to analyse a particular form of activism -- the street marches and public gatherings commonly known as 'Gay Prides'. In the first chapter I will introduce the subject of political activism in the Czech Republic in general and will then focus further on the mode of activism typical for human-rights organizations. In the second chapter I will analyse the living conditions of homosexuals in the Czech Republic, the possibilities for achieving greater rights, and the forms of activism which have helped to lead to the current situation from the institutional, legislative and personal perspective and I will also consider public opinion on the rights of sexual minorities. The third chapter is about the street marches that have taken place in the Czech Republic and here I will especially focus on the Gay Pride called 'Queer Parade 2008' that took place in 2008 in Brno. This Pride can be considered to be the first ever Pride in the Czech Republic. In the last part of this thesis I will introduce the results of the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the Czech printed media's response to the Queer Parade 2008.
